The Dry Side Fly Fishing Club will be hosting a “Learn to Fly Fish” event on Saturday, September 26th at 10 AM in Cascade Park. This event will focus on teaching beginners how to cast a fly rod and what the differences are between fly fishing and conventional spin fishing or baitcasting.
Certified Casting Instructor, Matt Paluch, will be teaching the group lessons that start at 10 AM. Then Matt along with the other club members will provide personal help to attendees during a hands-on practice session. Matt is the editor of “Fly Fishing Life Magazine,” an worldwide publication focused on fly fishing and a nationally ranked competitive fly caster. After the beginning classes are completed, Matt will be available for more advanced lessons and possibly a distance and accuracy demonstration/competition.
Attendees do not need their own equipment for this event. The club does encourage anyone who has equipment to bring it. If attendees would like to purchase equipment in advance, they should go to Pat's Atomic Fly Shop (next to the dmv, www.patsatomic.com, 764-9359) or The Desert Fly Angler (in Ephrata next to Chinook Lumber, www.desertflyangler.com, 754-4070).
Everyone attending will be entered into a raffle that will have many different prizes. The raffle prizes will be drawn and awarded at the next regular club meeting on Tuesday, October 6th at Chico's Pizza. The club meeting starts at 6PM.
The Dry Side Fly Fishing Club is a Non Profit club that has been active in the Columbia Basin for over 20 years. The club meets every first and third tuesday of the month at Chico's Pizza at 6pm. How to Send Email to the whole club
There was a question last night about sending email to the whole club. All you need to do to send an email message out to our entire contact list is send the email to: drysideffclub@googlegroups.com . Please let me know if you all have any questions.
